Mufasa: The Lion King Release Date In India: After a long wait for nearly 5 years, Disney Plus is coming back with yet another Lion King franchise film titled 'Mufasa: The Lion King'. The American epic musical-adventure film marks both as sequel and prequel to the 2019 film 'The Lion King'. For those unversed, it was the remake of the 1994 OG Lion King movie. Directed by Barry Jenkins, 'Mufasa: The Lion King' will be primarily released in English language alongside dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
The excitement among the Indian version of Mufasa: The Lion King is soaring high as some of the biggest names from the Indian film industry lent their voices. While superstar Mahesh Babu dubbed for Mufasa in the Telugu version of the Disney film, Shah Rukh Khan and his sons lent their voices for the Hindi version.

Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, Mufasa; The Lion King was officially announced back in September 2022 but the production got slowed down due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. The story of 'The Lion King' follows the journey of the young lion prince 'Simba' and his father Mufasa (lion king).
In Mufasa: The Lion King, the story will focus on the origin of Mufasa, a lost and alone lion cub who meets a kind, sympathetic lion named Taka and gets adopted by his royal family. The trailer unfolds as Rafiki narrates the story of Mufasa and Taka to Kiara, Mufasa's granddaughter and Simba-Nala's daughter.

In the Hindi dubbed version of Mufasa: The Lion King, Shah Rukh Khan has teamed up with both of his sons, Aryan Khan and AbRam Khan, for the very first time. While SRK Lent his voice to Mufasa, Aryan and AbRam dubbed for Simba and young Mufasa respectively.
On the other hand, Shreyas Talpade, Sanjay Mishra, Meiyang Chang and Makarand Deshpande dubbed for Timon, Pumbaa, Taka and Rafiki respectively.

Amid high-anticipation, Mufasa: The Lion King is releasing worldwide this Friday, 20th December 2024 in all languages. The movie had its premiere on 9th December 2024 at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Ahead of its theatrical premiere, some lucky fans and critics attended the special screening of Mufasa: The Lion King and shared their reviews on X (formerly Twitter).
One of the fans took to X and wrote, "Wow. I am shocked. #Mufasa is a DEEPLY emotional film, filled with great music and incredible visuals. Disney righted every wrong from the original "live-action" remake, creating what might be one of the best "live-action" Disney film in YEARS. (sic)"
Another user wrote, "#Mufasa is an innocent (mostly) enjoyable tale that surpasses its last live action attempt. Character emotions are more expressive. Jenkins directing adds visual flare to big moments. I will however say its length is felt due to its predictable story. Overall a fine time. (sic)"
