Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 20: Rajkummar’s Film Crosses 492Cr On 3rd Tuesday; Beats Ranbir’s Animal

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 20: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 has emerged as one of the biggest hits of the year and there are no second thoughts about it. The movie is the much talked about sequel to the 2018 release Stree and marks Rajkummar and Shraddha's second collaboration. Stree 2, which is helmed by Amar Kaushik, also features Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi and Aparshakti Khurana in the lead and had opened to rave reviews from the audience.

Interestingly, Stree 2 has been creating records since the first day. Despite witnessing a box office clash with Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu starrer Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham and Sharvari's Vedaa, Stree 2 managed to shine bright and crushed other releases at the box office. In fact, this Amar Kaushik directorial recorded the highest opening of 2024 with an opening day collection of Rs 60.3 crores. In fact, Stree 2 maintained a good hold at the box office during the first and second week as well despite a dip.

Though Stree 2 has been witnessing a significant drop in numbers during the third week, it has still managed to have a slow but steady run at the box office. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Stree 2 saw a dip of 69% in collections on third Monday (dya 19) wherein it earned Rs 6.75 crores. The movie saw a slight drop on day 20 (third Tuesday) as the horror comedy earned Rs 6.05 crores which took the overall collections of Stree 2 to Rs 492.85 crores

Interestingly, Stree 2 has entered the top 5 highest day 20 collection of all times, and secured the fourth position on the list after beating Ranbir Kapoor's Animal which had minted Rs 4.7 crores on day 20 of release. To note, KGF 2 tops the list with a collection of Rs 9.57 crores followed by Gadar 2 (Rs 8.6 crores) and Baahubali 2 (Rs 6.25 crores).

Meanwhile, after the phenomenal success of Stree 2, there have been speculations about the makers planning the third installment. Talking about the same, Abhishek Banerjee, who plays the role of Janaa in the franchise, told the Indian Express that while Stree 3 will take some time, some parts of the script have been written. He also emphasised that it will be "a big epic saga".
