The Buckingham Murders Vs Tumbbad Box Office Collection Day 1: After the blockbuster success of 'Crew', Kareena Kapoor Khan is back in theatres with her latest film 'The Buckingham Murders'. The investigation crime-drama hit cinemas yesterday 13th September 2024. To note, actor-producer Sohum Shah's cult-classic horror-thriller 'Tumbbad' also re-released yesterday. Surprisingly, Sohum's film has managed to beat Bebo starrer on the opening day.

The Buckingham Murders Box Office Collection Day 1

Directed by Hansal Mehta, The Buckingham Murders marks Kareena Kapoor Khan's debut as a producer. She has co-produced the film along with Ektaa R. Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms. The movie follows the story of a grieving cop (played by Kareena) who moved to another town after losing her son. She gets tasked with an investigation about the disappearance of a missing child.

The movie had a slow start at the box office. As per Sacnilk, The Buckingham Murders opened to a box office collection of Rs 1.15 cr (early estimates), becoming the lowest opener of the actress in the last 15 years.

Tumbbad Re-Release Box Office Collection Day 1

Directed by Rahi Anil Barve and headlined by Sohum Shah, Tumbbad witnessed a surprising start the box office on opening day. As posted by the makers, the epic horror-thriller earned Rs 1.65 cr on the opening day of its re-release.

The film was originally release in October 2018. It was box office flop back then, however, it became a cult-classic eventually over the years. The film had raked in Rs 65 lakhs on day 1 back in 2018.
