Azaad Box Office Collection Day 1 Early Updates: After Sushant Singh Rajput in 'Kai Po Che' and Sara Ali Khan in 'Kedarnath', Bollywood filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor has introduced two fresh faces to the showbiz, Aaman Devgn and Rasha Thadani, with his today-released film 'Azaad'. Directed by Abhishek, the Hindi-language period drama marks the Bollywood debut of Ajay Devgn's nephew Aaman Devgan and Raveena Tandon's daughter Rasha Thadani. Amid decent buzz, the film released in cinemas today (Jan 17), clashing with Kangana Ranaut's much-awaited film 'Emergency'.

Azaad Full Cast, Plot

Set against the backdrop of the 1920s in India, Azaad stars Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani in the lead. The movie also features Ajay Devgn, Diana Penty, Mohit Malik and Piyush Mishra among others in important roles.

The film revolves around the story of a young stable boy named 'Govind' (Aaman), who comes from a poor family, and his quest tor ide on a majestic horse. Rasha plays the role of 'Janki', zamindar's daughter.

Azaad Opening Day Collection Early Updates

The newcomers, Aaman and Rasha's performances seem to have left the audience impressed. From trailer to the current trending dancing track 'Uyi Amma', the film managed to generate a decent buzz around the release.

However, the movie is having an underwhelming start at the box office. According to the latest Sacnilk update, Azaad has managed to score around Rs 60 lakhs till 5:20 pm on the opening day (today, Friday). Reportedly, the film had a 5.70% occupancy in morning shows. Later in the afternoon, the movie recorded slight hike in footfalls and had 11.99% occupancy in afternoon shows. The numbers are likely to pick up an upward trend in evening and night shows.

Azaad Budget & OTT Streaming Updates

As per reports, Azaad is mounted on a whopping budget of Rs 100 cr. As per the end credits of the trailer, Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical digital streaming rights of the movie. Yes, Azaad is likely have its OTT premiere on Netflix after its theatrical run. However, the exact date is yet to be decided.
