Housefull 5 Box Office Collection Day 8: Akshay Kumar Film Loses Spark; Records Lowest Single Day On 2nd Fri

Housefull 5 Box Office Collection Day 8: Despite a solid opening, the latest installment of the Housefull franchise is now struggling at the box office. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Housefull 5 gambled with a new two-climax twist which initially created a strong buzz around the film. And now, Housefull 5B is getting replaced because of lower footfalls, as reported by Bollywood Hungama.

Amidst strong pre-release buzz, the multi-starrer, with Housefull 5A and 5B versions having equal shows, hit cinemas worldwide on June 6 (Friday). Even though the movie garnered criticism over its slapstick comedy and cringy jokes, the movie maintained a strong domination at the ticket counters in the initial days. As per the latest box office report card, Housefull 5 recorded its lowest single day so far on the first day of its week 2 in cinemas.

When Housefull 5 was officially announced, the huge starcast including names like Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Johnny Lever, Jacqueline Fernandez, Shreyas Talpade, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Sonam Bajwa, Fardeen Khan, Dino Morea, Chunky Panday, Chitrangada Singh, Nana Patekar, Saundarya Sharma and Ranjit became one of the highlights of the comic caper.

As per Sacnilk report, Housefull kickstarted its theatrical journey with a solid opening day collection of Rs 24 cr. Due to the strong buzz, the film witnessed a noticeable boost on the first weekend. Even on Monday, the film refused to slow down. However, since Thursday, the movie started to see a sharp decline in numbers.

According to Sacnilk, Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5 numbers dropped further below on Friday (June 13) and managed to rake in around Rs 6 cr (rough data), taking the estimated total collection to Rs 133.25 cr in 8 days.
