Ahead of its highly-anticipated grand theatrical release this Friday (June 6, 2025), the Housefull 5 stars - Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Fardeen Khan, Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Bajwa and Soundarya Sharma - jetted off to Pune for the promotions yesterday (Sunday, June 1).
A stampede-like situation took place after the crowd went berserk. The situation turned so chaotic that Akshay Kumar had to intervene and urge the fans with folded fans to be careful. "Dhakka dhukki mat kariye, please. Haath jod ke vinanti karta hoon, yaha auratein hai, bacche hai...I request everyone, please, (sic)" Kumar pleaded with folded hands.

In the video, the mall is seen packed with audiences. Not just the event area but also higher floors and corridors were filled with fans. Several videos from the Housefull 5 Pune event went viral on the internet in which young girls and women can be seen crying and struggling amid the stampede-like situation. In one of the videos, Jacqueline Fernandez is seen consoling a little kid after she broke down in front of the stage after getting separated from her parents in the crowd.
Housefull 5 Event In Pune: Fans Recall Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 Stampede Case
Videos of the chaotic situation at Housefull 5 Pune event have reminded the fans of the shocking Sandhay Theatre stampede case during Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 release.
Reacting to Akshay Kumar's video, one of the fans jokingly commented, "Akshay be Like I remember Allu Arjun Case against crowd 😂", while another user praised the actor for expressing his concern and handling the situation. The fan reacted, "Akshay sir achhe insan hai ❤️❤️"
On the other hand, a part of the netizen blamed the Housefull 5 team for promoting their film in such a closed place. One of the users slammed them and commented, "Why did you organise such event in this secluded area...", while another person wrote, "Den don't come at such places..wer u know d fans will go crazy ..". One of the comments read, "If you can't handle the attention, don't promote your movie at public locations. Be fully responsible!". "Asi jagah pramostion hi q kar raha bhai jaha orte aur bachho ki jan ko khatra ho upar se natak karna parwah karne ka," one of the users wrote, while another person said, "Itni saari Starcast public mein aana hi nhi chahiye na public toh aayegi hi aur public mein dhakka toh hoga hi na."
For those unversed, Allu Arjun got arrested in connection to the Sandhya Theatre stampede case where a woman lost her life. A child got seriously injured during the tragic stampede case. Post his interim bail, the Telugu actor had expressed his concern about the health of the injured victim and wished him a speedy recovery.
"I remain deeply concerned about young Shri Tej, who is under constant medical care after the unfortunate incident.
Due to the ongoing legal proceedings, I have been advised not to visit him and his family at this time
My prayers remain with them and I remain committed to taking responsibility for addressing the medical and family needs.
I wish him a speedy recovery, and I look forward to meeting him and his family at the earliest (sic), Allu Arjun wrote on Twitter.
