Killbill Society (Bengali) Box Office Collection Day 4: National Award-winning Bengali director Srijit Mukherji in a on back-to-back winning streak. The filmmaker's latest outing 'Killbill Society' has taken over Bengal despite limited screenings. After 'Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei' in January this year, the hit director-actor duo Srijit Mukherji and Parambrata Chattopadhyay reunited for Killbill Society, a highly-anticipated sequel to their 2012 blockbuster drama social-drama 'Hemlock Society'.

This time, Koushani Mukherjee replaced Koel Mallick as the leading lady in the sequel. Amidst strong buzz and high anticipation, the Bangla sequel, Killbill Society, hit cinemas on 11th April 2025, clashing with legendary actress Sharmila Tagore's probably last Bengali film 'Puatawn', co-starring Rituparna Sengupta and Indraneil Sengupta. Both the film opened to positive response from fans and critics alike. However, it's Killbill Society that's leading the clash.

Killbill Society Box Office Collection Day 4 (1st Monday)

Starring Parambrata Chattopadhyay as 'Mityunjoy Kar' and Koushani Mukherjee as 'Poorna Aich' alongside Sandipta Sen, Biswanath Basu and Anindya Chatterjee in key roles, Killbill Society is currently enjoying its impressive theatrical run all across in West Bengal with limited screenings due to Jaat. Despite the Jaat trend, Killbill Society has overshadowed the Hindi film in Bengal.

Matching up to the hype, Killbill Society opened to a whopping box office collection of Rs 12 lakhs, becoming the biggest opening Bangla film of 2025 so far. Due to the positive word-of-mouth, the sequel went on to see a strong hike in numbers on the opening weekend. On Monday (yesterday), the film witnessed a major drop of nearly 50% and managed to add around Rs 17 lakhs, according to Sacnilk. Despite the dip, Killbill Society maintained a strong hold at ticket counters. With a total 4-day estimated nett collection of Rs 85 lakhs, the India gross earning of the film stands at Rs 96 lakhs.

On the Poila Baishakh holiday today (Tuesday, April 15), the film is expected to touch the 1 cr mark at the box office.

Srijit Mukherji Reveals How Angelina Jolie's Real-life Suicide Attempt Inspired Killbill Society

The story of Killbill Society deals with sensitive topics like depression and suicide attempt. Did you know Hollywood star Angelina Jolie's suicide attempt was Srijit's primary inspiration behind Killbill Society?

Talking about it, the filmmaker told HT, "All these years we were just waiting for the right plot. We did not want to make a sequel just for the sake of making a sequel to such a cult classic. We were waiting for the right plot, and on erstwhile Twitter, we came across this real-life incident involving Angelina Jolie's life where she had hired a contract killer at the age of 19 to kill herself. She wanted it to look like a suicide but also wanted to make it look like a shootout for her family. Of course, the contract killer asked her to sleep over it and she changed her mind, and the rest is history. (sic).

In another interview, Mukherji was quoted saying, "The issue of mental health was dealt mainly in Hemlock Society. Killbill Society is more of a love story. It has the same pro-life message as Hemlock, but it is more of a love story. (sic)"
