Despite limited screenings due to Jaat and Sikandar, Kilbill Society vs Puratawn clash worked in favour for the single screen owners in West Bengal. Killbill Society Box Office Collection Day 2
Directed by Srijit Mukherji, Killbill Society marks the highly-anticipated sequel to his 2012 blockbuster Hemlock Society. The sequel, starring Parambrata Chatterjee and Koushani Mukherjee in the lead, opened to a whopping box office collection of Rs 12 lakhs, as per Sacnilk.
Due to the positive word-of-mouth, the dark social-drama went on to see almost 50% hike in numbers on Saturday, adding around Rs 23 lakhs on day 2. The total nett collection of Killbill Society is reported to be at Rs 35 lakhs.
Puratawn Box Office Collection Day 2
Written and directed by Suman Ghosh, Puratawn marks veteran actress Sharmila Tagore's return to Bangla cinema after almost 14 years. Co-starring Rituparna Sengupta and Indraneil Sengupta, the family drama managed to earn approximately Rs 2.62 lakhs (nett) and Rs 3.10 lakhs on its opening day, as per a tweet by West Bengal Box Office page.
Reportedly, the film witnessed a noticeable surge in numbers on Saturday and managed to touch Rs 8.98 lakhs (nett) and Rs 10.60 lakhs (gross) in 2 days.

The box office report card is pretty much clear. Killbill Society seems to be first choice for all the cinegoers in Bengal. Not just on Saturday (day 2), Killbill Society is leading over Puratawn in terms of overall numbers as well.
Srijit's film is leading for a huge margin by around Rs 26-27 lakhs (nett) over Puratawn. To note, Sharmila Tagore's film has gotten lesser screenings compared to Killbill Society.
