Killbill Society (Bengali) Box Office Collection Day 7: And the first week box office report card of Srijit Mukherji's latest outing 'Killbill Society' is finally here and it's meeting all the expectations. More than a decade after the 2012 blockbuster film 'Hemlock Society', the hit director-actor duo - Srijit Mukherji & Parambrata Chattopadhyay - treated fans with the highly-anticipated sequel to their film. Titled 'Killbill Society', the dark social drama completed its first week in cinemas on an impressive note.

Released on April 11, 2025 (last Friday), Killbill Society opened to a positive response from fans and critics alike. Matching up to the hype, the sequel is on its way to become one of the highest-grossing Bangla films of 2025. Despite Sunny Deol's Jaat's maximum authority over screenings across West Bengal, the Bengali sequel managed to overpower the Bollywood biggie, successfully pulling audiences to theatres. For those unversed, Killbill Society clashed with veteran actress Sharmila Tagore's probably the last Bangla film 'Puratawn: The Ancient', co-starring Rituparna Sengupta and Indraneil Sengupta.

Directed by National Award-winning Bangla filmmaker Srijit Mukherji and produced by SVF, Killbill Society, starring the multi-faceted actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay as 'Mrityunjoy Kar' and Koushani Mukherjee as 'Poorna Aich', is one of the highly-anticipated releases of the year. The sequel boasts a dynamic supporting cast including names like Biswanath Basu, Tulika Basu, Sandipta Sen and Anindya Chatterjee among others.

Mounted on an alleged budget of Rs 4 cr approx., the film is expectedly to have its OTT premiere on Hoichoi after its successful theatrical run.

As reported by Sacnilk, Srijit's Killbill Society opened to a whopping box office collection of Rs 12 lakhs, becoming the highest-opening Bengali film of 2025 as of now. After the strong opening weekend, the film did witness dip in numbers on weekdays. However, the film stood strong at the box office. The sequel also bounced back and how on the day of Poila Baisakh (Bengali New Year - April 15) and recorded its highest single day.

According to the latest Sacnilk report, Killbill Society managed to see a slight hike in numbers yesterday (first Thursday, April 17) and added around Rs 11 lakhs, taking the total estimated nett collection to Rs 1.4 cr approximately.

Killbill Society Box Office Records

Killbill Society seems to be in no mood to stop its glorious theatrical run anytime soon. As the film entered to its week 2 today, it set multiple records in its first week.

As per a tweet shared by 'West Bengal Box Office News' on X (formerly 'Twitter'), Killbill Society not only marks the biggest-opening Bengali film of 2025 but also holds the record of becoming the fastest film of 2025 (Bangla) to enter to the Rs 1 cr club, along with the highest first week collection of any Bangla film released in 2025. It has also earned the title of raking in the highest single-day numbers this year as of now.

In an interview, Srijit Mukherji revealed that Hollywood star Angelina Jolie's real-life suicide attempt case was primarily the idea behind Killbill Society. Talking to HT, the 47-year-old was quoted saying, "All these years we were just waiting for the right plot. We did not want to make a sequel just for the sake of making a sequel to such a cult classic. We were waiting for the right plot, and on erstwhile Twitter, we came across this real-life incident involving Angelina Jolie's life where she had hired a contract killer at the age of 19 to kill herself. She wanted it to look like a suicide but also wanted to make it look like a shootout for her family. Of course, the contract killer asked her to sleep over it and she changed her mind, and the rest is history. (sic)"
