The evolution of Salman Khan is known to all. He has won the hearts of many audiences and has ruled the Box Office, beating his so-called rival Shahrukh Khan and friend Aamir Khan and many other superstars.

Born on 27 December 1965, eldest son of screenwriter Salim Khan and his first wife Sushila Charak, Salman finished his schooling at St Stanislaus High School in Bandra. He debuted in movies with Biwi Ho To Aisi, but it was his second film Maine Pyar Kiya which won him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut, where he was seen as main lead.

There was no stop for Sallu after this as he ruled the Bollywood with many successful movies like Saajan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Karan Arjun, Judwaa, Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya, Biwi No 1 and Hum Saath Saath Hain. Also is ruling the industry with his movies like Wanted, Dabangg series, Bodyguard, Ready and Ek Tha Tiger.

Forget his past, this bad boy is a changed man now. Recently on a chat show, he confessed that he had been doing movies for his friends and was not concentrating on scripts. But now, it is not the same, his father Salim who accompanied him on the show said that seeing his contemporaries, he has understood the competition and now moving forward.

In the movie, Salman appears as Akash Verma, friend of Sanjay Dutt (Aman) and grow up as brothers. Sanjay is poet and Madhuri is his fan. When Salman meets Maduri, he falls for her and Sanjay helps him in his love when he comes to know the same. This was Salman's first movie released theatrically in Canada.

Andaz Apna Apna is a comedy film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The movie showed Amar (Aamir Khan) and Prem (Salman Khan) as two daydreamers. Their aim was to marry a rich heiress, Raveena Bajaj (Raveena Tandon), daughter of Ram Gopal Bajaj (Paresh Rawal), to get rich. Each dialogue and character of the movie were liked by the audience.

This is Salman's another family movie as Prem. It is the story of Prem (Salman), who lost his parents at an early age and lives with his elder brother Rajesh (Mohnish Bahl) and uncle Kailashnath (Alok Nath). Old friend of Kailashnath (Anupam Kher) has two daughters - Pooja (Renuka Sahahane) and Nisha (Madhuri Dixit), whose marriage gets fixed with Salman and Mohnish. But a tragedy turns everything upside down, where Nisha is asked to marry Mohnish, rest forms the crux of the story. The film won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

Karan Arjun is the movie where Shahrukh (Arjun) and Salman (Karan) are seen together for the first time. The film was the second biggest hit of 1995 and was declared as Blockbuster. For his performance in the film, Salman was nominated for Filmfare and Screen Awards for Best Actor category.

This movie introduced the best Jodi ever - Salman and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The movie directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, had Salman (Sameer) who falls in love with his guruji's daughter Aishwaraya (Nandini). But Aish's father asks him to leave the house and not to meet his daughter again, who will be later married to Ajay Devgn (Vanraj). When Ajay comes to know about the fact that Aish loves Salman, he tries to unite the couple, but Aish falls for Ajay and Salman is left alone. Salman was nominated for Filmfare Best Actor award for his performance in the film.

A family drama, where again Salman was seen as Prem. His character is shown as innocent and charming. In the movie, he is in love with Sonali Bendre (Dr Preeti) since childhood. Their romantic moments are shown in the movie very cute, that anyone will fall in love with this Salman.

Tere Naam showed Salman (Radhe Mohan) in a very different way. In the movie, Salman loves Bhumika Chawla (Nirjhara) crazily, who is a traditional Brahmin girl. Just when Nirjara reciprocates his love, Radhey is attacked by a gang of thugs and loses his mind. He gets admitted to an ashram. Just when he gets normal and tries to meet Bhumika, he finds her dead and he returns back to Ashram.

This is the never seen before Salman's avatar and the role of his was very well appreciated. Salman was nominated for Filmfare Best Actor award for his performance in the film. The advance booking for Tere Naam was the best ever in five years. Salman's Tere Naam hairstyle became so famous that many of his fans started donning this hairstyle.

Dabangg

Dabangg was superhit which changed Salman's fate at the Box Office in recent times. The movie showed Salman as Chulbul Pandey, who calls himself as Robin Hood Pandey. He lives with his family and does not have a good relationship with his stepfather and Makkhi (Arbaaz Khan). Chulbul falls in love with a girl named Rajjo (Sonakshi Sinha).

Thought the movie didn't have logic, audience loved Salman Khan in this new Chulbul avatar. The film marks the debut of Sonakshi as an actress, Arbaaz as a producer and Kashyap as a director. Salman andSonakshi are considered as best pair after Salman-Aish and Salman Katrina.
