Batwara 1947 is an upcoming film directed and written by Rajkumar Santoshi, featuring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta in lead roles. Plot

“Lahore 1947” evokes the emotional and violent backdrop of the Partition of India, often explored through stories like Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya, O Jamyai Ni. The narrative typically follows a Muslim family migrating from Lucknow to Lahore, only to find an elderly Hindu woman still living in the house allotted to them. As tensions rise, the family chooses compassion over conflict, forming a deep bond with her despite societal pressure. Their act of humanity, especially honoring her final rites according to Hindu customs, stands as a powerful symbol of communal harmony, even as it leads to tragic consequences amid rising fanaticism.
