Happy Bhag Jayegi Story

Happy Bhag Jayegi is set in Punjab where a vibrant, youthful and independent woman Diana Penty (Happy) is forced into marriage by her parents to Jimmy Shergill (Daman Singh Bagga). Just when you think that the couple will have a happy life together, things take a drastic turn or rather we can say a funny turn when Happy runs away from the marriage hall leaving everyone confused.

Happy runs away and hides in a 'cargo gift parcel' box and unknowingly gets shipped to Pakistan to a respected middle class family (Abhay Deol's family). Cross-border tensions arise between Indian and Pakistan and Abhay decides to help Happy get back to India safely. Things get dirty when Happy is kidnapped by militants in Pakistan and keep her as a hostage.

Daman Singh Bagga, who is a local politician uses his influence and goes on a hunt along with his cronies in search of Happy, as he wants to marry her under any circumstances. Enter Guddu (Ali Fazal) who was madly in love with Happy and always dreamt of marrying her someday in Punjab. Guddu manages to get in touch with Abhay Deol from across the border and joins the hunt to set Happy free and marry her.
