Padmaavat Story

    Padmaavat is a Bollywood period drama, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie stars Deepika Padukone in titular character, alongside Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Aditi Rao Hydari.

    The movie depicts the story of Rani Padmavati, a legendary Hindu Rajput queen, who was the wife of Ratan Sen, the Rajput ruler of Mewar. In AD 1303, due to the lusty desire towards Rani Padmini, Alauddin Khilji, the ruler of Khalji dynasty of Delhi Sultanate sieged and conquered the Chittor Fort in Rajputana.

    Will the queen succeed in the fight against Khilji forms the plot of Padmaavat.

    Budget & Runtime:

    Padmaavat is made with a whopping budget of around Rs. 180-190 Crores. After the censoring, the movie has a total runtime of 193 minutes.

    The music for Padmaavat is composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the Background score is by Sanchit Balhara. The lyrics were penned by A. M. Turaz & Swaroop Khan. As of now, two songs of the movie have been officially released.

    Distribution & Release Date:

    Padmaavat is produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures & Bhansali Productions under the banner Bhansali Productions. The movie will be distributed by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures in India & Paramount Pictures will handle the international release across 90 countries.

    Initially the movie was scheduled for a release on 1 December 2017, later the release was pushed to January 25, 2018.
