After a prolonged delay, the geopolitical spy thriller Tehran was premiere exclusively on ZEE5 on August 14, 2025, skipping cinemas after theatre chains reportedly hesitated to screen it due to its sensitive Iran–Israel backdrop. Directed by Arun Gopalan and inspired by the 2012 bombing near the Israeli Embassy in Delhi, the film stars John Abraham as ACP Rajiv Kumar, a Special Cell officer caught in a deadly cross-border mission where he is hunted by Iran, abandoned by Israel, and deserted by India. Joining him are Manushi Chhillar as SI Divya Rana and Neeru Bajwa as Sheilaja, with the tense, globe-spanning narrative promising high-stakes action, shifting loyalties, and moral dilemmas.
