An official statement from the Bachchans is still forthcoming, but insiders from the Bachchan camp confirm, "Abhishek and Aishwarya are tying the knot on April 20."

An informer further reveals, "There will be three functions: a grand sangeet, followed by the wedding and finally the reception.

All three functions will take place at Jalsa and will be spread out over a week."

The guest list

The wedding ceremony on April 20 will be a simple and private affair, with no more than 200 guests from both sides. Besides immediate family, other big names include Amar Singh (naturally), Tina and Anil Ambani, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Subroto Roy.

The invitations

The wedding invitations have still not been sent, but close friends of the Bachchans have received personal calls from Amitabh and Jaya requesting the pleasure of their company on the auspicious day.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya's brother Aditya has taken the responsibility of inviting guests from the bride's side.

The sangeet

The sangeet is going to be a grand affair. A list of songs have been drawn up and delegated to close friends of the happy couple, who will perform for them amid much fanfare.

Apparently, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has included several songs from Aishwarya's favourites list. The songs will be choreographed to depict various stages of Ash and Abhi's courtship.

In true Bollywood style, Shweta Bachchan will also be performing at the sangeet.

Interestingly, the song Goonji si hai saari hawa from Kyun? Ho Gaya Na was immediately struck off the list when it struck one of the couple's friends that the song had been picturised on Ash and former flame Viveik Oberoi!

Boys night out

What's a wedding without a bachelor party? And so Abhi's good friends Rohan Sippy, Sikander Kher and gang are planning an elaborate night of fun.

We're not sure if it will be a raunchy, hedonistic blast, but knowing these boys, anything is possible!

No presents, please

Abhishek and Ash have given strict instructions to family and friends not to get them any presents on the big day. 'Only your blessings will be accepted,' is their refrain.
