Manoj
Muntashir
Adipurush:
Om
Raut's
magnum
opus
Adipurush,
which
released
in
theatres
on
June
16,
met
with
unprecedented
controversies
for
its
shoddy
VFX,
poor
characterization
of
Ramayan
characters,
and
use
of
pedestrian
language
for
Hindu
gods.
Starring
Prabhas
as
Raghava,
aka
Lord
Rama,
Kriti
Sanon
as
Janaki,
aka
Sita,
and
Saif
Ali
Khan
as
Lankesh,
aka
Ravana,
Adipurush,
which
was
said
to
be
inspired
by
the
Hindu
epic
Ramayana,
received
massive
flak
from
audiences
and
politicians
for
distorting
the
epic
and
hurting
people's
sentiments.
And
now,
after
being
severely
criticised
and
slammed
for
incorporating
modern-day
slang
in
the
film,
which
was
perceived
by
the
audience
to
be
cringe-worthy
and
demeaning,
Manoj
Muntashir
has
issued
an
apology.
After
defending
the
movie
and
the
film's
crass
dialogues
multiple
times,
Manoj
Muntashir
took
to
his
Twitter
page
on
July
8
and
extended
unconditional
apologies
for
'hurting
people's
emotions'.
His
apology
note,
written
both
in
Hindi
and
English,
read:
"I
accept
people's
emotions
have
been
hurt
by
Adipurush.
With
folded
hands,
I
extend
my
unconditional
apologies.
May
Prabhu
Bajrang
Bali
keep
us
united
and
grant
us
strength
to
serve
our
sacred
Sanatan
and
our
great
nation."
मैं
स्वीकार
करता
हूँ
कि
फ़िल्म
आदिपुरुष
से
जन
भावनायें
आहत
हुईं
हैं.
अपने
सभी
भाइयों-बहनों,
बड़ों,
पूज्य
साधु-संतों
और
श्री
राम
के
भक्तों
से,
मैं
हाथ
जोड़
कर,
बिना
शर्त
क्षमा
माँगता
हूँ.
भगवान

बली
हम
सब
पर
कृपा
करें,
हमें
एक
और
अटूट
रहकर
अपने
पवित्र
सनातन
और
महान
देश
की…

Earlier,
he
had
tried
defending
Adipurush
dialogues
in
an
interview
and
claimed
that
Bajrangbali,
or
Lord
Hanuman,
is
'not
a
god'
but
is
being
considered
because
of
the
power
his
devotion
has
for
Lord
Ram.
This
escalated
the
row
over
the
film,
and
several
cases
were
filed
against
the
makers.

Meanwhile,
his
recent
apology
was
not
welcomed
by
netizens,
and
they
called
out
Manoj
for
acting
late.
One
said,
"Prabhas

another
person
Tweeted:

Produced
on
a
budget
of
over
Rs
600
crore,
Adipurush
is
the
most
expensive
Hindi
movie
ever
made
in
Indian
cinema.
Worldwide,
the
film
has
made
around
Rs
390
crore
and
has
been
declared
a
disaster.
Post-release,
the
film
drew
heavy
criticism
from
reviewers
and
industry
people
over
the
dialogue
and
weak
plot.
The
makers
also
revamped
the
dialogues
after
the
massive
flak,
but
things
had
already
taken
an
ugly
turn
by
that
time.
The
All
India
Cine
Workers
Association
also
wrote
a
letter
to
Union
Home
Minister
Amit
Shah
and
Mumbai
Police
with
the
demand
to
ban
and
register
a
case
against
the
producer,
director,
and
writer
of
the
film.
Many
lawyers
in
Agra
protested
against
the
film's
screening,
and
complaints
were
also
lodged.
