Veere Di Wedding producer Rhea Kapoor has confirmed the sequel to the 2018 chick flick starring Kareena Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor in the lead. During an interview with News18, she said, “I’m working on Veere Di Wedding 2. It will be very different, it’s not going to be what anybody expects. I didn’t want to do it until I knew that it would be better than the first one and I knew that it was going to be hard because Veere Di Wedding is my everything. It’s such an important film for me. I love that film and very attached to it. I didn’t want to do it if I didn’t get the same amount of joy I did from making the first one. So, yes, Veere Di Wedding 2 is in the works."

Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur is set to clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal at the box Office. Both the films are set for a theatrical release on December 1. Opening up on the same, Vicky Kaushal told a news portal, “I think that Friday, we both are gonna eventually gonna hand over our Films to the audience. It will be the audiences' day more than our day. In today’s time, we, as an industry, should give the option of multiple films on the same day to the audience. That’s how we will flourish as an industry. We have those many weeks in a year, but as an industry, we cannot limit ourselves to making those many films in a year. We will have to make multiple films and we will have multiple releases on the same day.”

Veteran Hollywood actor Michael Douglas will be honoured with the prestigious Satyajit Ray Excellence in Film Lifetime Award at the International Film Festival of India. The festival is slated to take place in Panjim, Goa, from November 20 to 28 this year. Information & Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur took to his X account on Friday and made the announcement, which read, “I'm delighted to announce that Michael Douglas, the distinguished Hollywood Actor and Producer, will be honoured with the prestigious Satyajit Ray Excellence in Film Lifetime Award at the 54th International Film Festival Goa. His deep love for our country, 🇮🇳, is well known, and we look forward to welcome him, Catherine Zeta Jones and their son, to the most prominent Film Festival in South Asia to showcase our rich cinematic culture and unique traditions at #IFFI54!! Actor Pooja Hegde will play the female lead in an upcoming action thriller film, headlined by Shahid Kapoor, the makers announced on Friday. Vicky Kaushal’s most-awaited biographical drama movie based on the life of field marshal Sam Manekshaw, Sam Bahadur, was unveiled on Friday. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film also stars Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Sheikh in lead roles. The teaser shows Vicky fully transformed into a military legend and commanding a strong presence on screen. The film is slated to release on 1 December 2023.

Renowned Malayalam film producer PV Gangadharan passed away on Friday, October 13, at a private hospital in Kozhikode, Kerala, where he was reportedly admitted due to age-related ailments. He was 80. Sharing the unfortunate news about his demise, trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai took to his X handle and wrote, “#PVGangadharan (80) the veteran #Malayalam movie producer, one of the founders of KTC group and board member of #Mathrubhumi passed away in Kozhikode. PVG as he was called has produced films under #GrihalakshmiProductions and won State & National film awards and were huge commercial hits. His daughters are now producing under the banner @Scube_films.” PV Gangadharan has produced several films like Angadi (1980), Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha (1989), Kattathe Kilikkoodu (1983), Vartha (1986), Adhwaytham (1992), Kaanaakkinaavu (1996), Thooval Kottaram (1996), Ennu Swantham Janakikutty (1998), Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal (2000), Achuvinte Amma (2005), Notebook (2006), and many others.

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan extended his gratitude to the makers of his upcoming sci-fi thriller film Kalki 2898 AD and dropped a new look from the film. As per reports, Genelia Deshmukh has been signed as the female lead of Aamir Khan’s comeback movie Sitaare Zameen Par. She collaborated with Aamir 16 years ago for his production, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa, where she played the love interest of Aamir’s nephew Imran Khan. And it is being reported that Genelia will be romancing Aamir in his comeback film, which is an adaptation of a Spanish film, Champions, and will be directed by RS Prassana. Pinkvilla quoted a source saying, “Aamir believes that Genelia fits the part of a strong independent woman like a hand in a glove. After ample discussions with his director, Aamir has got Genelia on board the film as the female lead. Genelia will play Aamir’s love interest and also be on a journey with the protagonist in training a team of specially-abled. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na was produced by Aamir and this one has him in the lead. Genelia is also very excited to play the part and team up with Aamir for the first time.
