Ent Highlights: Hema Malini's Star-Studded 75th Birthday Bash; Alia-Ranbir Leave For 69th National Film Awards

The star-studded National Film Awards ceremony, held today in Delhi featured a memorable moment as actresses Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon, who were awarded Best Actress, and Pallavi Joshi, the Best Supporting Actress winner, shared a frame with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award recipient, Waheeda Rehman. A picture of them striking a pose together has gone viral on social media.

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt received the national award for her film, Gangubai Kathiawadi. The actress's mother too to Instagram to wish her on the special occasion. She wrote, “Congratulations my darling @aliaabhatt on your National Award … and it’s all due to your hard work and dedication to your craft. Such a proud moment for us all truly. Gratitude and love.”

Karan Johar’s most loved chat show, ‘Koffee With Karan', is returning with its eighth season on October 26. According to the latest report, Sunny Deol and his brother Bobby Deol will be gracing this season after almost 18 years. The Deol brothers appeared on Karan’s show back in 2005. A close source was quoted by India Today as saying, “Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol have already shot for the episode. The two brothers were a total riot with them discussing everything from their bond to box office and family.” This season’s theme is family members; hence, most of the guest pairings are being made keeping the theme in mind.

The 69th National Film Awards will be held in Delhi today, October 17, from 1.30 pm onwards. The show will be live streamed on DD National's YouTube channel. The winners will be conferred with the awards by President Droupadi Murmu. Allu Arjun is the first Telugu actor to receive a Best Actor award for Pushpa: The Rise, while Alia Bhatt will be receiving her first Best Actor award for her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi. Alia walked the red carpet in a beige saree and talked about her first National Film Award win, “My eyes are full of stars right now.” On the other hand, Allu Arjun said, “I am extremely happy as I am receiving this award. Its a double achievement for me personally.”

Archana Gautam took to social media to expose that Abhishek Kumar is lying about not knowing his ex, Isha Malviya's, participation in Bigg Boss 17. In a video, Archana claimed that Abhishek had planned to show a hate relationship with Isha at the beginning of the season and later convert it into a love relationship as his strategy. Without showing her face, Archana in the video can be heard saying, “Kitna jhoot bologe yar. Tumne bola nahi tha ki yar Isha aarahi hai. Kareena Kapoor Khan will next be seen in Hansal Mehta’s directorial thriller ‘The Buckingham Murders’. The film is backed by Ektaa Kapoor’s home banner, Balaji Telefilms. The film premiered at the 67th BFI London Film Festival 2023 and marks Kareena’s debut as a producer. An intriguing poster for the film featuring Kareena Kapoor was unveiled on Tuesday by Ektaa Kapoor on her Instagram page. Sharing the poster, she wrote, “Announcing something soon (11.11 wishes only) with great pride I share d v first poster. Where the lines of grief and hope blur, resilience rises!” The film follows the story of a detective investigating the murder of a 10-year-old in Buckinghamshire.

A day after the trailer release of Salman Khan’s most-awaited movie, Tiger 3, Khan dropped Emraan Hashmi’s look from the movie. Taking to Instagram, Salman shared a new poster featuring Hashmi, who is playing an antagonist in Tiger 3. He captioned the post, “Aatish aka @therealemraan karega Aatishbaazi #Tiger3 mein. Aisi dushmani mein mazaa hi kuch aur hai… Watch #Tiger3Trailer NOW (Link in bio) #Tiger3 arriving in cinemas on 12th November. Salman Khan looked handsome in an all-black look as he attended OG Dream Girl Hema Malini’s 75th birthday bash on Monday. He posed for the shutterbugs in his swag at the venue. A video of the couple arriving at Mumbai's private Kalina airport for their flight is going viral on social media. Alia will be receiving her National Film Award for Best Actor for her performance in the film Gangubai Kathiawadi, jointly with Kriti Sanon for Mimi. Alia, for the trip, wore an ivory salwar suit and had her hair tied in a bun, while Ranbir was in a black hoodie and joggers.

Veteran actress Hema Malini celebrated her 75th birthday yesterday with her immediate family, while several stars from Bollywood, including Salman Khan, Rekkha, Shilpa Shetty, Madhuri Dixit, and others, attended the starry birthday bash. In a video shared by a paparazzo page, Malini was seen cutting cake with husband Dharmendra and daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol standing by her side. While everyone cheered and clapped, Hema fed a piece of cake to Dharmendra first. There were live performances of Hema's hit numbers at the party, and she was also seen grooving to them. Hema looked beautiful in an embroidered lavender saree paired with diamond jewellery.

Amid rumours of her return to the show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, actor Disha Vakani, aka Daya Ben, made a rare appearance in Mumbai on Monday with her family as she offered prayers at a puja. Donned in a pink and beige lehenga choli, Disha smiled for the paps as she made her way to the Navratri puja with her husband Mayur Padia and daughter Stuti. Disha Vakani has been missing from TMKOC since she went on an indefinite maternity leave in 2017.
