Rio Kapadia, seen in several popular films and TV shows, is no more! The talented actor breathed his last on Thursday (September 14) and left the whole entertainment industry in shock. At 12:30 pm on Thursday, at the age of 66, he peacefully passed away. He is survived by his wife, Maria, and daughter, Farah. In an official statement, a close friend of Kapadia conveyed the sad news, stating, "Dear friends, with great regret I wish to inform you guys that our dear friend Rio Kapadia passed away at 12:30 pm today." However, the reason behind his sudden demise is still awaited. Kapadia's final rites will take place in Mumbai on Friday, September 15, in the presence of his friends and family.

After five years of working together in Padmavaat, actor Shahid Kapoor is reuniting with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Padmavaat was released in 2018. A source close to the development informed Pinkvilla that Shahid and Bhansali have been discussing a special film over the past few months. The source shared, "Shahid and SLB have mutual respect for each other and are discussing the idea of collaborating on a special project. It’s an out-and-out masala entertainer, and the script has been completely developed by Bhansali’s team of writers. The filmmaker has been actively working towards casting the film over the last few months, and is having detailed conversations with Shahid on the permutation and combinations with regards to film." it also added that the film might go on the floor next year. "It’s in very early stages of discussion at the moment and there is no director associated to the script. Once Shahid agrees in principle on the script, Bhansali will scout for a director, as he wishes to get a top director on board the project. It’s a very commercial script, on the lines of two other films produced by SLB, Rowdy Rathore and Gabbar Is Back. SLB and team are hopeful on Shahid to come on board the film."

Reacting to Naseeruddin Shah's remark on the popularity of films like The Kashmir Files and Gadar 2 as disturbing, actress Pallavi Joshi has urged the veteran actor to watch her film before forming any views on it. Taking to ETimes, Pallavi said, "When I talk openly about anything, I always collect all the information related to that subject. If I have to talk about any film whether it is The Kashmir Files or any other film, then I will definitely watch the film first. I respect Naseer bhai a lot, he is a very good artist, I request him to watch my film once. We have worked together in many films, so I know him well. Now if he comments on my film without seeing it, it hurts, but what to do? The world is like this."

Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma has reacted to veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah’s statement on his film’s success, terming it ‘disturbing’. In an interview with AajTak, Anil Sharma said, "I read that quote by Naseer Sahab. I was surprised after reading it. Naseer Saheb knows me well and he also knows which ideology I belong to. I am surprised that he is saying such things about Gadar 2. I would like to say that Gadar 2 is not against any community. Neither is it against any country." He further added, "Gadar in itself is a film which is full of patriotism. It is part of a sequel. It is a proper masala film. Which people have been watching for years. So I would like to tell Naseer Sahab that once he watches Gadar 2, he will definitely change his statement. I still feel that he cannot say such things. I have been a fan of his acting. If he has said so, then I would request him to watch the film once. I have always made cinema with the aim of masala. I have never had any political propaganda in this. Naseer Saheb himself is aware of this."

According to reports, Shilpa Shetty, Suniel Shetty, and Akshay Kumar's 2000 hit film Dhadkan sequel could be in the making. The update was confirmed by the film’s director, Dharmesh Darshan, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. The director said, "At this moment, all I can say is that yes, I have been offered Dhadkan 2 by Mr Ratan Jain, who’s also the producer of Dhadkan. He has been offering me the film for a decade. I have been resisting as I was not sure since I have been told that Dhadkan is a classic. It’s like making the second part of Kabhi Kabhie (1976)! Dhadkan is not an action entertainer or comic caper. It is a film with a lot of soul. It has stood the test of time. I don’t believe in encashing on it. But now people have gone hammer and tongs I guess after the monstrous success of Gadar 2. Hence, the film was offered yet again to me in the last 10-15 days." He then added, "I made it clear (to the producer) that I’ll make the film only if we don’t compromise on any front. I don’t know how big a hit it will be. Even for the first part, I was not sure. It had an ‘off casting,’" he added, referring to Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar, who were action heroes when the film was in the making. When the filmmaker was asked if the iconic trio would return for the sequel, Dharmesh confessed, "I haven’t thought about the casting at all."
