During an interview with Indian Express, Kareena Kapoor Khan opened up naming her son Taimur. She said, “When we came up with the name… Saif actually said… He grew up with a neighbour friend, and he always really liked his name and his name was Taimur, so he said, ‘You know, if I have a son, he was my first friend. I’d like to name him Taimur’, and that’s exactly how Taimur was named, because he was Saif’s first friend when he was living in town here. It has no sort of take or resemblance to anything or anyone. It just went like… it’s not even like.. it’s not even the same name. I got into a bit of a shock when this happened. But luckily, I think because of us being strong and resilient and silent, I think it just kind of died down. He was the most photographed child for what reason I have no idea. The name was trolled. It was a traumatic time, it was very difficult. But I think both Saif and me handled it with a lot of dignity.”

Actress Ankita Lokhande shared an emotional note on her father’s one-month death anniversary on Tuesday. Ankita Lokhande lost her father, Shashikant Lokhnade, last month at the age of 68. The actress' dad was apparently not keeping well for two months before his demise. Remembering him, she shared a throwback photo with him on her Instagram account and wrote, "Paa i can’t believe it’s been a month already today Miss u every moment paa and I love you so much daddy Take care of yourself till me meet again dada (sic)." The trailer for Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chhillar's The Great Indian Family has finally been released. From the trailer, it looks like the film is filled with fun and entertainment, but there is a plot twist. The family entertainer is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and will be released on September 22. The trailer introduces us to Vicky’s character, Bhajan Kumar, who is raised in a Brahmin family. However, things take a U-turn when it is revealed that he is a Muslim. Sharing the trailer on social media, the film makers wrote, "Humaari #TheGreatIndianFamily aapki family se milne aa rahi hai 22nd September ko! According to the latest reports, director Hansal Mehta and producer Bhushan Kumar are teaming up to make a biopic on the illustrious life of Bollywood's ace choreographer, Saroj Khan. A report by Pinkvilla stated that the project is currently under development and will go on the floor next year. The outlet quoted a source as saying: "The biopic is presently in the writing stage and the team is planning to unleash the story in an episodic format. Saroj Khan’s journey in the industry is nothing short of an inspiration for millions of dancers across the globe, and Hansal is trying to be very thorough with his research." It also added, "The idea is to pay an ode to the contribution of Saroj Khan to the dancing community. While the world dances to the steps designed by her, very few know the efforts that went into reaching the position of being the best in the field." Confirming the news in an interview with Pinkvilla, Bhushan Kumar said, "We are working on Saroj ji’s biopic which Hansal sir is doing. Directed and created by Hansal Mehta. That’s in the writing stage. In OTT, you have to write a lot, and when it’s a biopic, it’s a lot more."

AR Rahman's recent Chennai concert, titled Marakkuma Nenjam, turned into a chaotic rampage due to horrific planning and crowd management. Apart from blaming the organisers, i.e., ACTC Events, many also slammed composer AR Rahman for not being aware of the dreadful incidents happening outside the venue and continuing to sing in his concert. And now, amid the backlash, Tamil actor Karthi has come out in his support, and on Tuesday, he took to X and wrote, "We have known and loved Rahman sir for more than 3 decades now. What happened during the concert was unfortunate. However, knowing sir he would be immensely affected by it. My family too was at the concert amid the chaos but I stay with #ARRahman sir and I hope the event organizers take responsibility. Prime Video is bringing a double treat for movie lovers across India with the premiere of global blockbusters Barbie and Meg 2: The Trench. Launching within a few weeks of their theatrical release, both movies will be available to rent on Prime Video for INR 499 each. In addition to Barbie and Meg 2: The Trench, the Prime Video Store offers customers the opportunity to rent and watch a vast selection of movies from around the world. Directed by Greta Gerwig, Barbie is a story about Barbies in Barbieland and stars Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie. While a sequel to the 2018 film The Meg, Meg 2: The Trench follows Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham), who has been involved in fighting environmental crime, it is directed by Ben Wheatley.

The hilarious promo for the Akshay Kumar starrer Welcome To The Jungle has left fans excited. Amid this, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has issued a non-cooperation order against producer Firoz Nadiadwala for defaulting payments. They have also asked the film’s cast to support the shooting halt. In a conversation with Etimes, the president of FWICE, BN Tiwari, said, "We have informed all the actors of the film, including Akshay Kumar and Disha Patni that the federation has issued a non-cooperation on Firoz Nadiadwala for defaulting payments and that they should not shoot for the film unless pending dues of Rs 2cr is cleared for the technicians." He then said, "Firoz Nadiadwala had paid the technicians of Welcome 2 in 2015, and the amount was about Rs 4cr, which was later reduced to Rs 2cr. However, Nadiadwala stopped payment of the cheque after we deposited it." BN Tiwari also added that he will allow Firoz Nadiadwala to shoot until his dues are cleared. He said, "We issued non-cooperation in 2015, but will implement it now, as he has finally begun work on his next film and we will not allow him to shoot it till the payment is cleared."

Following KL Rahul’s century in Monday’s Asia Cup 2023 match between India and Pakistan, the cricketer’s proud wife, actress Athiya Shetty, shared a post congratulating him for scoring an unbeaten 111. Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan has become the third film to enter the 300 crore club. According to the latest reports, the action thriller earned 30 cr on its fifth day, taking its collection to Rs 316.16 crore. As per Sacnilk.com, Jawan made Rs 30 crore nett in India on its fifth day for all languages. On day 1, it earned a whopping ₹75 crore (Hindi: ₹65.5 crore, Tamil: ₹5.5 crore, and Telugu: ₹4 crore); ₹53.23 crore (Hindi: ₹46.23 crore, Tamil: ₹3.87 crore, Telugu: ₹3.13 crore) on day two; ₹77.83 crore (Hindi: ₹68.72 crore, Tamil: ₹5.34 crore, Telugu: ₹3.77 crore) on day three; and ₹80.1 crore (Hindi: ₹71.63 crore; Tamil: ₹5 crore; Telugu: ₹3.47 crore) on day four. The Atlee’s action masala film also became the fastest Hindi movie to cross the ₹500 crore mark at the global box office. It recorded ₹520.79 crore gross at the worldwide box office in its first weekend. Besides SRK, it also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. Jawan has special appearances by Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt. The film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, and Sunil Grover.

Ayushmann Khurrana recently, in an interview, talked about getting offers from south industry and said that he doesn't want to take a rushed decision. He said, "There have been conversations but it should also excite me at the same time at the script level. If there’s something exciting and people are heavily invested into it, then I’ll go for it for sure." With Jawan’s success, many actors now want to work with him. Ayushmann expressed his wish to work with him, but there’s another actor in his bucketlist with whom he would like to share the screen. He said, "I would love to be collaborate with Atlee or Fahadh Faasil. I know they’re poles apart (in terms of their sensibilities). But my filmography is also the same… Dream Girl and Andhadhun belong to two ends of the spectrum."

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah recently expressed his concerns over the popularity of movies like Kerala Story, Gadar 2, and The Kashmir Files and called it disturbing. Speaking to the Free Press Journal in an interview, Shah was asked about the changing objective of filmmaking in Bollywood. Responding to it, the actor stated that a film’s popularity now is driven by jingoism, which he believes is harmful. "Now the more jingoist you are, the more popular you become, because this is what has been ruling this country. It’s not enough to love your country, but beat drums about it and you have to create imaginary enemies. What these people don’t realise is that what they are doing is very harmful. In fact, films like 'Kerala Story' and 'Gadar 2', I haven’t seen them but I know what they are about," he said. He then added, "It’s disturbing that films like 'Kashmir Files' are so massively popular whereas films made by Sudhir Mishra, Anubhav Sinha, and Hansal Mehta, who are trying to portray the truth of their times don’t get seen. But it’s important that these filmmakers don’t lose heart and continue telling stories. They will be responsible for posterity. A hundred years later, people will see 'Bheed' and they will also see 'Gadar 2' and see which one portrays the truth of our times, because film is the only medium which could do that. It’s hard to resort to abstraction and capture life as it is. So regressive is a pretty mild word for what’s going on. It’s frightening where filmmakers are being coopted into making films which praise all the wrong things and run down other communities for no reason at all. It’s a dangerous trend."
