Meet B-Town's Youngest 200 Cr Actor Who Once Struggled To Pay Rent, Was Removed From A Big Banner Film
From being the monologue king in the 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' franchise to impress the audience with his comic skills and proving his acting mettle and versality in films like 'Freddy', 'Dhamaka' and 'Chandu Champion'... Kartik Aaryan has surely come a long way.
Hailing form Gwalior, Kartik Aaryan - the man of the moment - moved to Mumbai for college to become an actor. Despite the success of 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2' (2015), it was actually 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' (2018) that changed everything for Kartik Aaryan.
Earlier in interviews, Kartik Aaryan had revealed that he used to share a 2-BHK flat with 12 roommates in Andheri when he first came to Mumbai. During a recent interview with Mashable, the 33-year-old heartthrob recalled his early days when he would struggle to pay rent after delivering back-to-back flops.
Taking a trip down memory lane, Kartik said, "I moved into a house where I lived alone but I was struggling a lot then. I didn't have much money coming in and my films were not working. Pyaar Ka Punchnama had come at that time but that did not work much in my favour. After that Akaash Vaani did not do well, Kaanchi also didn't work. Guest in London also didn't work. Nobody knew much about these films as they were not working at the box office."
"I was going through a lot of struggle when I lived here but I was very connected to this place. There was a point where I couldn't pay the rent of this house. It was a very strange time because I was thinking either I bring in some roommates or I start sharing with someone else. Then finally Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety happened. I was paying ₹2,000 as rent then. At one point, it went up to ₹4,000," he further added.
Back in 2021, everyone was left shocked when Karan Johar's Dharma Productions announced Kartik's exit from the highly-anticipated sequel 'Dostana 2' with Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya. While Kartik remained tight-lipped about his removal, his alleged fallout nd disagreements with filmmaker Karan Johar didn't work in his favour.
