Exclusive! Will Janhvi's Roohi Make A Comeback In Horror-Comedy Universe? Stree 2 Writer Niren Bhatt Reveals

In 2018, Stree starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao was released, and it became a super hit at the box office. During the same time, Maddock Films, had revealed that they are going to make a horror-comedy universe and there will be different characters that will be introduced in the universe. Later, it was announced that the next movie in the universe is Roohi starring Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Varun Sharma.

Roohi was released in 2021 amid the pandemic, the film didn't get a great response. After Roohi, Bhediya was the third film in the horror-comedy universe, and at the end of the Varun Dhawan starrer, a glimpse of Stree 2 was given.

Now, in Stree 2, there was Stree and Bhediya, but Roohi was not there. So, recently when Filmibeat spoke to Stree 2 writer Niren Bhatt, we spoke to him about Roohi.

When asked him that horror-comedy universe also had Roohi, a movie which was not written by him, so is there a plan to get the character back in the universe, to which Niren said, "Roohi's issue is that Rajkummar Rao is there playing another character, so to get that thing in this universe is a bit difficult. But yes, possibilities are always open, can't say it will not come or it will come. Right now, I haven't thought about it, but let's see how it goes."

When asked him if he is working on any other projects or just concentrating on horror-comedy universe, the writer said, "Right now, I am focusing on this. But, there are 3-4 projects in the pipeline but I won't be able to reveal about it because of the NDA. There are a few big films that I am working on."

Stree 2 Box Office Collection

Well, Stree 2 has become a blockbuster at the box office. The movie in 18 days has collected Rs. 480.05 crore which is excellent. It will clearly cross the Rs. 500 crore mark at the box office, and though there's no big release in the coming weeks, we can expect that Stree 2 will continue to rule at the box office.
