Late Zakir Khan Throwback Story: The news of Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain passing away has sent shockwaves across the nation. The renowned Tabla legend passes away at the age of 73 in San Francisco, US, leaving an irreplaceable void in the world of music. From Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar to Bickram Ghosh, AR Rahman among others, several big names from the entertainment world are mourning the saddening loss and paying last respects on social media.

Zakir Khan Death Reason, Last Social Media Post

In the wee hours of Monday morning (December 16), late Zakir Hussain's family confirmed the heart-breaking news of Zakir Khan passing away through an official statement. In the statement, they stated that Zakir Hussain succumbed to death at the age of 73 due to a lung disease called 'Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis' (IPF).

The Tabla legend is survived by wife Antonia Minnecola, and their two daughters - Isabella Qureshi and Anisa Qureshi.

After the tragic loss, late Zakir Hussain's last post, dated on 29th October, on Instagram is going viral on social. In the video, the late legend talked about a 'wonder moment' as he was enjoying autumn leaves.

As the nation mourns the loss of Zakir Hussain, let's take a trip down memory lane to his childhood when a 6-year-old Zakir Hussain got disappointed with his mom and wanted to run away form home with a lady named 'Pujaran'.

During his appearance on 'Rendezvous with Simi Garewal', the Table maestro had revealed that his mother was against his passion for music and wanted to stop him from playing music.

Recalling the incident, Zakir Hussain was quoted saying, "She was one of the ladies who was in our house and looked after us. I think I must have been very disappointed with my mother trying to stop me from playing music. So I told Pujaran, 'Let's just run away.' She used to sing a bit. So I told her, 'You sing, I will play and we will make a living. Let's just run away from home.' (sic)".

When host Simi Garewal asked the legend what had stopped him from taking th drastic step, he'd answered that it was his father Alla Rakha because of whom he couldn't give up his home. "Khaana kaise khayenge but deep inside, it was not just the food, it was also knowing that what I needed was there. My father - my teacher, (sic)" he'd stated.
