Emergency Movie Twitter Review: Almost 6 years after 'Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi', National Award-winning actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut is back on director's chair with her today-released film 'Emergency'. Kangana not only directed the film but also headlined, co-produced and co-written the Hindi-language political biographical drama. Featuring the actress-BJP MP as late Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India, the movie is based on one of the darkest chapters of our country.

From getting postponed multiple times to facing criticism from various Sikh communities, Kangana Ranaut's highly-anticipated film 'Emergency' has garnered a lot of buzz in the past few month. After facing several roadblocks, the movie has finally been released in cinemas today (Friday, January 17). The Hindi-language historical political drama brings the emergency period in 1975, imposed by the then-PM Indira Gandhi, on big screens.
The star-studded epic ensemble is one of the highlights of the film. The films boasts some of the most-sought after actors including Kangana as 'Indira Gandhi', Anupam Kher as 'Jayaprakash Narayan', Shreyas Talpade as 'Atal Bihari Vajpaye, Milind Soman as 'Filed Marshal Sam Manekshaw', Mahima Chaudhary as 'Pupul Jayakar', late Satish Kaushik as 'Jagjivan Ram' and Ashok Chhabra as 'Morarji Desai' among others.

The movie was previously slated to hit cinemas in September 2024 but got postponed due to delay in CBFC certification.
