Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and penned by Murali Gopy, Empuraan (also known as L2: Empuraan) is the second installment in the Lucifer trilogy. The film, starring Mohanlal as Khureshi-Ab'raam/Stephen Nedumpally, promises an intense mix of power struggles, political intrigue, and action-packed sequences. The ensemble cast features Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyappan, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, Fazil, and Sachin Khedekar, among others.

John Abraham's The Diplomat, which minted Rs 1.20 crores in the overseas market on the opening day, failed to rake in Rs 1 crores. According to a report published in Sacnilk, The Diplomat made a collection of Rs 95 lakhs on day 2 (first Saturday) which took the overseas collection to Rs 2.15 crores. While worldwide box office collection of The Diplomat happened to be Rs 6 crores, the collection turned out to be Rs 12.50 crores on day 2 (first Saturday). Meanwhile, John Abraham was seen singing praises for Indian diplomat JP Singh whom he met during the workshop to prepare for his character. Recalling the meeting, John said, "JP Singh sir came on set, and I observed his body language, the way he spoke-bahut hi sweet, simple, lekin pata hai jaise shatranj ke table pe, on the chess table, how you have your moves, I think he thinks 10 moves ahead. Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor's upcoming Dharma rom-com 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumar', co-starring Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra and Maniesh Paul, gets a new release date. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the movie was previously slated to hit cinemas in Aril 2025. However, SSKTK is now all set to hit cinemas on 12th September 2025.

After a decent start at the box office with an opening day collection of Rs 4 crores, The Diplomat has been maintaining a steady growth on day 2. According to a report published in Sacnilk, The Diplomat minted Rs 4.5 crores on its second day (day 2/ first Saturday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 8.5 crores.

Music composer AR Rahman, who was admitted to a corporate hospital here following dehydration, has returned home and is doing fine now, his family said on Sunday. The 58-year-old musician was hospitalised on early Sunday morning, according to his manager Senthil Velan. Earlier, the music director's sister, AR Reihana refuted reports that Rahman was hospitalised after he complained of chest pain. "He had dehydration and gastric problems," Reihana told PTI Videos. "To all our dear fans, family, and well-wishers, I sincerely thank you for your love, prayers, and support. My father felt a bit weak due to dehydration hence we went ahead and did some routine tests, but I'm happy to share that he is doing well now. Your kind words and blessings mean a lot to us. We truly appreciate your concern and continued support. Much love and gratitude to you all!" AR Rahman's son Ameen wrote in his Ig story.

After starting the 5th week on a grand note, Chhaava has been going strong during the 5th weekend. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Chhaava minted Rs 8 crores in India including (Rs 7.35 crores in Hindi and Rs 65 lakhs in Telugu). This took the overall collection of the movie to Rs 554.75 crores (including Rs 541.55 cr in Hindi and Rs 13.2 crores in Telugu). Interestingly, with a total collection of Rs 554.75 crores, Chhaava has managed to beat the lifetime collection of Ranbir Kapoor's blockbuster hit Animal which minted Rs 553.87 crores during its entire run at the box office. In fact, Chhaava has now the 8th highest grossing film of all times as it has pushed Animal to the 9th position.

Oscar-winning music composer and singer AR Rahman was to the Apollo Hospital in Chennai due to a sudden chest pain earlier today (March 16), as per Asianet News. Reportedly, Rahman is currently said to be undergoing angioplasty. An official confirmation on the same is still awaited.
