Actor Vijay Deverakonda has issued a public apology after a police complaint was lodged against him for allegedly making derogatory remarks about tribal communities. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, the actor expressed his “sincere regret,” stating that he never intended to hurt or offend any community. He also clarified the context in which he used the word “tribe,” emphasizing that his comments were misinterpreted. The controversial remarks were made during a promotional event for the film Retro in Hyderabad.

Nirmal Kapoor, mother of actors Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor and producer Boney Kapoor, was cremated here on Saturday in the presence of family and close friends. Nirmal Kapoor died Friday evening at a private hospital here due to old age-related ailments. Her last rites were held at the Pawan Hans Crematorium. Many prominent personalities from the film fraternity, including Anupam Kher, Arbaaz Khan, Rani Mukerji and Orhan Awatramani attended the funeral.

As per media reports, the funeral of late Nirmal Kapoor will take place today (Saturday) at 11:30 AM at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Mumbai's Vile Parle. Devastated Anil Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, and Sanjay Kapoor along with his wife Maheep Kapoor among others were spotted reaching the residence for the last rites.

Despite a slight dip in collections on Friday, HIT: The Third Case, directed by Sailesh Kolanu, continues to perform well at the Indian box office. According to early estimates from Sacnilk.com, the film added ₹10 crore on its second day, bringing its total domestic earnings to ₹31 crore so far. Starring Nani, the film opened on Thursday with an impressive ₹21 crore across multiple languages — including ₹20.25 crore from Telugu, ₹35 lakh from Tamil, ₹5 lakh from Kannada, ₹25 lakh from Hindi, and ₹1 lakh from Malayalam versions. In comparison, HIT: The First Case (2020) had collected ₹2.01 crore on Day 2, while HIT: The Second Case (2022) earned ₹5.35 crore. With The Third Case already surpassing both in terms of early box office performance, the franchise has clearly taken a big leap forward.

In the early hours of Saturday, Boney Kapoor shared an emotional message on Instagram following the passing of his mother, Nirmal Kapoor, who died at the age of 90 on Friday. In his heartfelt note, the filmmaker spoke about her remarkable legacy, remembering her as a strong and inspiring presence in their lives. “Passed away peacefully on the 2nd of May, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. She lived a full and joyful life, leaving behind four devoted children, loving daughters-in-law, a caring son-in-law, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a lifetime of treasured memories," the statement reads.

Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 experienced a sharp dip in box office earnings on its second day. According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected ₹11.75 crore on May 2, 2025 — a 38.96% decline from its strong opening day figures. The film had earned ₹19.25 crore on Day 1. With this, the total box office collection of Raid 2 now stands at ₹31 crore in just two days.
