Pathaan, which marks the 4th installment in YRF's spy-universe, is gearing up for a sequel. It was previously reported that YRF head-honcho Aditya Chopra was already in talks to take Pathaan's story forward with Shah Rukh Khan.

If the latest Peeping Moon report is to be believed, Aditya Chopra has apparently locked the script for Pathaan 2 and they are planning to take the sequel on floors next year. Yes, you read that right!

As the report further suggests, the makers will reportedly bring a new director to helm Pathaan 2. Reportedly, Aditya has shown the script to SRK and Khan is quite impressed with the sequel.

"Aditya has been working on the script for 'Pathaan 2' since mid-2023. The sequel is designed not only to carry forward Pathaan's story but also to lay the groundwork for larger conflicts in upcoming installments of YRF's Spy Universe. It was due to the extensive planning and intricate storytelling that the scripting process took so long. Aditya, along with Sridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala, has crafted an exhilarating, high-stakes script that promises to surpass the first installment in both scale and intensity. Aditya consulted SRK on the script, and he was thoroughly impressed and enthusiastic about the direction of the sequel," a source informed the portal.

Will New Mum Deepika Padukone Reunite With SRK For Pathaan 2 Post Her Maternity Break?

The new update on Pathaan 2 has left fans excited, waiting for Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone reprising their respective roles from the first part. Now, the question is - will Deepika reunite with SRK in the sequel? As per several Twitter pages, DP is expected to join SRK for Pathaan 2 post her maternity break.

For those unversed, Deepika is currently enjoying her maternity break post welcoming her first child, daughter Dua Padukone Singh, with husband Ranveer Singh. She also reportedly has Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 lined up in her kitty. On the other hand, SRK will soon start shooting for his next, King.
