Popular actress Mawra Hocane, who made her Bollywood debut in Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru's 2016 musical romantic-drama Sanam Teri Kasam, recently addressed the reports of whether she should return in Sanam Teri Kasam 2 or not. For those unversed, Mawra's heartfelt portrayal of 'Saru' has once left the fans emotional.

In a recent interview with Connect Cine, the Pakistani actress talked about Sanam Teri Kasam 2 and stated that she would love to return in the sequel. Having said that, she also mentioned she'd be happy if someone else took on the female lead's role in the sequel.

"I mean, main ye chahungi, chahe mai karu Sanam Teri Kasam 2 ya koi aur karein, mujhe itna pata hai, my producers really deserve this success the film is now getting. The numbers are putting in and more than any of us Deepak Mukut sir deserves it. Allah karein when he makes the second part woh isse bhi zyada successful ho with or without me. Meri humesha best wishes rahengi, agar possible hua karna toh, I would love to lekin agar na possible hua toh dil mein koi baat nahi hai. Jitna Sanam Teri Kasam ko pyaar ab 9 saal baad mil raha hai, iske baad shikayat ki gunjaish hi nhi hain, (sic)" she was quoted saying.

During a recent interview with Filmibeat, directors Rashika Rao and Vinay Sapru revealed that the casting for Sanam Teri Kasam 2 is almost locked. The sequel is scheduled for Valentine's Day 2026 release.
