The Diplomat is inspired by the real-life ordeal of Uzma Ahmed, an Indian woman who was coerced into marriage in Pakistan in 2017 and later sought help from the Indian embassy to return home. Sadia Khateeb portrays Uzma Ahmed with great intensity, while Kumud Mishra, Sharib Hashmi, and Revathy deliver strong supporting performances. The film combines a gripping narrative with a talented ensemble, making it an engaging political thriller.

The runtime of the film is reportedly around 137:30 minutes (2 hours and 17 minutes).
