Despite Homebound missing out on the Oscars 2026 nominations, proud producer Karan Johar expressed his love for the film and admiration for director Neeraj Ghaywan, with a recent social media post. "Proud!!! Love you @neeraj.ghaywan for allowing us to bask in your light!" wrote the filmmaker, who also shared a photo collage from Homebound, consisting some of the finest stills from the film, on his official Instagram handle.

Director Neeraj Ghaywan, on the other hand, reshared Karan Johar's Instagram story on his official handle, along with a special message that reads: "Thank you @karanjohar! You have been an absolute rock. Couldn't have come this far without you. Love you."

For the uninitiated, India has not secured a nomination in the Best International Feature Film category in the last 25 years, even though some of the highly acclaimed and iconic films were submitted for the same. The last film which was secured the Oscars nomination for the category was Lagaan, the Aamir Khan starrer directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.
