Dhurandhar Propaganda Claims: Ever since its theatrical release in December last year, Dhurandhar has remained one of the most talked-about films on social media. While the action-packed drama earned praise from fans for its intense storytelling and patriotic themes, it also found itself at the center of repeated debates, with some critics accusing it of pushing a political narrative and labeling it a propaganda film.

Now, months later, the controversy has resurfaced just as excitement builds for the OTT debut of Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Dhurandhar 2). The renewed discussion comes after a speech by a Pakistani journalist began circulating widely across social media platforms.

Is Dhurandar A Propaganda Film?

Inspired by real-life events and criminal networks that once operated in Karachi's Lyari district, Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar was marketed as being rooted in actual incidents. However, the movie's release had sparked widespread debate, with some critics arguing that it pushes a particular political viewpoint.

As discussions over the film's authenticity continue, a video featuring Pakistani journalist Arif Aajakia has gone viral online. In the clip, shared by ANI from Talk Journalism 2026, Aajakia appears to defend the film's portrayal of Lyari and its surrounding events during a conversation with Saurabh Dwivedi.

Reflecting on the film's depiction, Aajakia said, "I was the mayor of a town in Karachi, elected mayor during the period when Dhurandhar was done. I was born and raised in Lyari, so I knew that everything shown was true."

He further added, "I was born in Karachi, but my parents were born in Junagadh, Gujarat. I consider myself to be of Indian origin, not Pakistani."

Dhurandhar 2 OTT Release Updates: When Will Dhurandhar The Revenge Premiere On Jio Hotstar?

Fans won't have to wait much longer for Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge to arrive online. The highly anticipated sequel is set to premiere exclusively on JioHotstar as Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge - Raw & Undekha on June 4 at 7 PM IST. Unlike a regular OTT launch, the film will debut with a special premiere event aimed at giving viewers an immersive experience.

Ahead of the screening, audiences will be treated to a 30-minute exclusive pre-show featuring candid cast interactions, behind-the-scenes moments, and stories from the making of the film. After the special premiere, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge will be made available to regular subscribers from June 5 onwards, allowing fans to stream the action-packed drama at their convenience.
