Mamta Kulkarni Ousted From Kinnar Akhara Following Statements: The former Bollywood actress, who is currently on her spiritual path, has been making headlines yet again with her controversial life. As per the latest updates, Mamta Kulkarni (now, Mamtananda Giri) has been ousted from the Kinnar Akhara, following her controversial statements against Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, the 46th 'Shankaracharya' or head of Badrinath's Jyotish Peeth.
Mamta Kulkarni Expelled From Kinnar Akhara Following Statements
According to the reports, Mamta Kulkarni, who was serving as the Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhara, has been expelled from the post following her statements against Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati. The new update was announced by Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi through an official video statement, recently.
In the statement, she confirmed that Mamta was expelled from the Kinnar Akhara after consulting the office bearers. Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi stated that commenting on any sensitive topic without permission is considered as a clear violation of the Akhara's organizational rules.
She also pointed out that there are many historical aspects of the Jyotish Peeth and related controversies, on which the Akhara prefers to not pass any comments. She further clarified that Mamtanand Giri aka Mamta Kulkarni will no longer have any association with the Akhara.
Mamta Kulkarni's Take Against Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati
For the uninitiated, Mamta Kulkarni aka Mamtanand Giri openly questioned the role of Shankaracharya Avimukteshwarananda, and the conduct of the new 'Sankaracharya'. The former actor questioned the appointment process and the necessity of bathing in a palanquin, in the presence of a large crowd. She further added that the individuals in such higher spiritual positions should be willing to get rid of their egos.
Later in her Instagram post, the former Bollywood actress revealed that her resignation will be effective January 27, 2026. Mamta Kulkari revealed that she made this decision voluntarily, and confirmed that she has no hard feelings towards Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi, or any other members of the Kinnar Akhara.
