I Chose Uncertainty Over Comfort: Sameer Verma On Leaving MBA Career For His Bollywood Dream- EXCLUSIVE
It's not a cakewalk to grab a role in a Bollywood film as a lead actor. After eight years of struggle, Sameer Verma is set to foray into Hindi cinema with a lead role, promising to showcase his skills and talent.

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat Assistant Editor Abhishek Ranjit, Sameer Verma got candid about leaving his MBA career to make his debut in Bollywood. He bared his heart out in the interview, stating that eight years of rejection prepared him for everything.
Here are excerpts from the interview-
Q. You turned down a promising corporate career after your MBA to pursue acting. Looking back, what gave you the confidence to take such a life-changing risk?
Ans: After completing my MBA in Bengaluru, I received several promising corporate opportunities, including job offers from Australia. It was the safer path, but acting had always been my dream. I knew that if I didn't give myself a chance, I would always wonder what could have been. So I chose uncertainty over comfort. Looking back, I feel every sacrifice and every difficult decision was worth it because they brought me closer to where I am today.
Q. Your Bollywood debut comes after nearly eight years of struggle, training, and countless auditions. What were the biggest lessons those years taught you about yourself and the industry?
Ans: These eight years became my biggest teachers. I trained continuously, performed in theatre across Delhi, Mumbai and Jaipur, attended workshops, and gave countless auditions. There were times when I reached the final stages of casting but the roles didn't materialize. Those experiences taught me that rejection isn't failure, it's preparation. I learned that this industry rewards patience, consistency and resilience just as much as talent.
Q. Theatre played a significant role in your journey. How has your stage experience influenced your performance in your debut film?
Ans: Theatre became the foundation of my acting journey. While waiting for opportunities in films, I kept refining my craft on stage because I never wanted to stop learning. Live performances taught me honesty, discipline and emotional depth. They helped me understand every character from within, and I believe those years prepared me to face the camera with confidence.
Q. After years of preparation behind the scenes, you're finally being introduced as a lead actor. What emotions are you experiencing as your first look is about to be unveiled?
Ans: It's difficult to describe this feeling in words. For me, it represents eight years of dreams, hard work, theatre, workshops, auditions and unwavering belief. There's excitement, gratitude and a sense of responsibility because this is the moment I've been working towards for so many years. I hope audiences connect with my work and embrace me with the same sincerity with which I've pursued this dream."
Q. Your journey is a reminder that success doesn't always come overnight. What would you like your story to say to aspiring actors who are still waiting for their big break?
Ans: I want everyone to understand that every dream has its own timeline. Don't compare your journey with someone else's. Keep learning, keep improving and don't let rejection define your future. There were many moments when I could have given up, but I chose to keep believing in myself. If my journey encourages even one aspiring actor to stay patient and keep chasing their dream, I'll consider that a success beyond my debut.
