Ikkis OTT Release Date, Platform: Here’s When Agastya Nanda’s Ikkis Is Likely To Stream After Theatrical Run
Ikkis OTT Release Update: Ikkis has finally hit the theatres today (January 1), coinciding with the New Year 2026. The film marks the big-screen debut of Agastya Nanda, Amitabh Bachchan's grandson, while Simar Bhatia, who is Akshay Kumar's niece, also steps into films for the first time with this project.

Beyond the new faces, Ikkis stands out as a biographical war drama, a genre that always draws interest. The film also carries strong emotional weight as it features the final on-screen appearance of veteran actor Dharmendra. For cinema lovers, Ikkis is not just another release but a heartfelt farewell to a legendary star who has left a lasting mark on Indian cinema.
IKKIS OVERVIEW: STORYLINE AND CAST DETAILS
Sriram Raghavan steps away from his trademark thrillers with Ikkis, a hard-hitting war drama rooted in real events. The film is based on the inspiring life of Arun Khetarpal, who became India's youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient. Instead of suspense and mystery, Ikkis puts the spotlight on courage, patriotism, sacrifice, and deep emotional bonds.
The story centres on Arun Khetarpal's heroic role in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, with a strong focus on the historic Battle of Basantar. At only 21, Arun displayed extraordinary bravery by taking on enemy tanks during combat. He lost his life on the battlefield, but his fearless actions earned him India's highest military honour, making his story one of unmatched valour.
Alongside intense battle sequences and large-scale tank action, Ikkis also explores Arun's personal world. The film traces his journey from a young cadet at the National Defence Academy to a celebrated war hero. Family relationships play a key role in the narrative, and a gentle love story adds emotional balance to the larger war backdrop.
Agastya Nanda, Amitabh Bachchan's grandson, takes on the central role of Arun Khetarpal. After making his acting debut in The Archies in 2023, Ikkis marks his first major theatrical release and one of his most demanding performances so far.
Veteran actor Dharmendra appears as Arun's father, M.L. Khetarpal, in what is also his final on-screen role, adding strong emotional weight to the film. Jaideep Ahlawat is seen portraying a Pakistani Army officer, while Sikandar Kher plays an Indian Army officer.
Ekavali Khanna features as Maryam Nisar, Simar Bhatia appears as Kiran, and the supporting cast includes Kunal Mann, Shree Bishnoi, Mohan Godara, and Aryan Pushkar in important roles.
IKKIS OTT RELEASE UPDATE: WHEN & WHERE WILL THE FILM STREAM ONLINE?
According to an OTTplay report, Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of Ikkis. After completing its run in cinemas, the war drama is expected to arrive on Prime Video as an exclusive digital release around February-end.
The OTT premiere is expected to give Ikkis a strong second wave of attention. With the platform's massive global reach, the film is likely to connect with international audiences as well. However, the streaming giant is yet to announce the official digital premiere date.
