Son Of Sardaar 2 Review: Son of Sardaar 2, starring Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur, has finally hit the theatres today (August 1). The story of Son Of Sardaar 2 revolves around Jassi Randhawa (Ajay Devgn), a simple-hearted Sikh man whose only dream is to reunite with his wife Dimple (Neeru Bajwa), who lives in England. For the past 10 years, Jassi has been trying to get a visa but has failed repeatedly. Finally, when Dimple invites him to England, hoping for a fresh start, things take a turn. Instead of a warm reunion, she demands a divorce - shocking Jassi and flipping his world upside down.

On a parallel track, we are introduced to a Pakistani dance group led by Rabia (Mrunal Thakur). Her quirky team includes her husband, Danish (Chunky Pandey), Gul (Deepak Dobriyal), Mahvish (Kubbra Sait), and daughter Saba (Roshni Walia). Chaos begins when Danish elopes with a Russian woman, leaving the group stranded.

Meanwhile, Saba wishes to marry her boyfriend Gogi (Sahil Mehta), but faces roadblocks from Gogi's demanding father Raja (Ravi Kishan). Amidst all this, Jassi unexpectedly becomes a part of their lives, leading to a hilarious clash of worlds.

The first half of the film is engaging and genuinely funny. Ajay Devgn plays a naive yet lovable character who often finds himself in absurd situations, frequently getting tangled up in his own lies. The screenplay in the beginning keeps the viewer hooked with its sharp comic timing and fresh situational humour.

The second half tries to bring in emotional depth, covering romance, family bonds, and some powerful messages, but it doesn't completely lose its comic charm. The film avoids vulgar humor, making it a clean family watch. The India-Pakistan angle, too, is treated with a fun yet respectful twist.

However, the film demands that you don't overthink. If you try to apply too much logic, you might miss the fun. But if you're ready to enjoy the ride, Son of Sardaar 2 delivers full paisa-vasool entertainment.

Ajay Devgn once again proves his comic timing is top-notch. Mrunal Thakur holds her ground in several scenes, though her character arc feels uneven at times. But the biggest surprise comes from Deepak Dobriyal, who plays a transgender character with grace, depth, and comic brilliance. His performance is easily one of the film's highlights.

Ravi Kishan is entertaining as a Bhojpuri-speaking sardaar, and Mukul Dev (posthumous), in his final film, leaves a lasting impression with his impeccable comic timing.
