During his set, he turns to a woman in the audience and poses a controversial question: "If you were that mother and you had Rs 16 crore in your bank account and a 2-montho-old kid, ek baar toh apne pati ko bolti na... Inflation is rising."
The remark has since sparked outrage, with many criticizing his attempt at humor on such a sensitive topic. In the resurfaced clip, Samay Raina went a step further, stating that if the child survived, grew up, and later expressed a desire to become a poet, he would thrash him. The backlash began after YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia appeared on Samay's show and posed an inappropriate question to a contestant: "Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life or join in once to stop it forever?"
The so-called joke sparked outrage online, with netizens slamming Samay, Ranveer, and others involved in the show for allegedly promoting vulgar content. The controversy escalated further, leading to multiple FIRs and legal complaints against Samay. In response to the backlash, the comedian has now removed all episodes of India's Got Latent from his YouTube channel.
