Kunal Kamra Controversy: Who Is Rahool Kanal? All About Shiv Sena Leader ARRESTED For Vandalizing Show Venue

Kunal Kamra Controversy Who Is Rahool Kanal

Kunal Kamra Controversy Update: Shiv Sena leader Rahool Kanal and 11 of his associates faced arrest on Monday (March 24) for damaging a Mumbai hotel where stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra had performed recently. Kamra's recent controversial "traitor" comment about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde angered Shiv Sena supporters leading them to attack the venue.

Although authorities granted bail to Rahool Kanal and his associates on the same day, the event has pushed him into the public eye. As the situation develops, people want to know: Who is Rahul Kanal? You've come to the right place to find out!

ALL ABOUT RAHOOL KANAL, WHO WAS ONCE A CLOSE AIDE OF AADITYA THACKERAY

For those unaware, Rahool Kanal was once a trusted ally of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and played an active role in the party's youth wing, Yuva Sena. Considered one of Uddhav Thackeray's key supporters, Kanal switched sides in July 2023 and joined the Eknath Shinde-led faction of Shiv Sena. Since then, he has been actively involved in the Shinde group's political activities.

A prominent figure in Bandra, Kanal is well-connected in Bollywood circles and is also a well-known restaurateur.

OWNER OF BHAIJAANZ RESTAURANT & SALMAN KHAN'S CLOSE FRIEND

Rahool Kanal owns Bhaijaanz, a popular restaurant in Bandra named after Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. He shares a close relationship with Salman and has often supported him publicly. When shots were fired outside Salman Khan's residence, Kanal was among the first to reach his home and speak in his defense.

Apart from his political career, Kanal runs an NGO called I Love Mumbai and has also served as a trustee of the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust. His journey in politics began with Shiv Sena's youth wing, where he was associated with Aaditya Thackeray for over a decade.

RAHOOL KANAL'S WARNING TO KUNAL KAMRA

Following the attack on Kamra's show venue, Kanal justified his actions, claiming it wasn't about taking the law into their own hands but about self-respect. ANI quoted him saying, "When it comes to elders or respectable citizens of the country... when your elders are targeted, you will target someone of that mentality... The message (for Kunal Kamra) is clear, 'Abhi tak toh ye trailer hai, picture abhi baqi hai.' Whenever you are in Mumbai, you will get a good lesson in Shiv Sena style."

With an FIR filed against 19 individuals and many unidentified participants, the case has stirred political and public debates. Will Kanal face further legal action, or will his political backing shield him? Only time will tell.
