Amid India Pakistan tension, all Pakistani actors were banned from Indian social media. Several actresses were removed from Indian film's posters. As Mahira Khan was removed from Raees poster, the actress called this move "silly." All Pakistani artists, including singers and actors are now avoided from collaborating with Indian artists. When Mahira was asked whether she is looking forward to work with Indian artists, the actress said, "I think we need to focus inwards; we need to focus on our own industry. I'm someone who doesn't believe in the cancel culture or boycotts. I'm speaking broadly. But given the current situation, we're all emotional. Instead of advocating such strong stances which is one's prerogative, we should focus on ourselves. We should invest in us (sic)."
After Operation Sindoor, Mahira Khan too to social media to call it a "cowardly act." Responding on the same, AICWA (All Indian Cine Workers Association) said, "The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) strongly condemns the anti-India statements made by Pakistani actress Mahira Khan and actor Fawad Khan, who have openly criticised India and questioned the nation's actions in defence of its sovereignty." All the Pakistani actors and actresses are still blocked in India from several social media platforms. Let us further wait to see whether this ban will ever be lifted.
