Dev (Bengali Actor-MP) On Meeting Bengal CM: Actor-turned-politician Dev has found himself at the center of political discussions after his name reportedly appeared among the Lok Sabha MPs who backed a letter to Speaker Om Birla regarding support for the BJP-led NDA.

The development comes at a time when the internal crisis within the All India Trinamool Congress continues to intensify. Reports suggest that 20 Lok Sabha MPs, led by senior TMC leader Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, wrote to Om Birla seeking recognition as a "separate bloc" while extending support to the BJP-led NDA. The buzz intensified further after the Ghatal MP was seen meeting Suvendu Adhikari.

Why Did Dev Meet Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari?

The speculation surrounding Dev gained momentum after he attended an administrative meeting chaired by Suvendu Adhikari in Purba Medinipur. Also present at the meeting were June Maliah, the MP from Medinipur, and Siuli Saha, the MLA from Keshpur. Both Dev and June Maliah have recently been linked to reports claiming they are part of the emerging rebel TMC camp in Parliament.

During the discussion, the Ghatal MP reportedly raised the long-pending Ghatal Master Plan, a crucial flood-control and infrastructure project for the region.

Addressing reporters after the meeting, Dev reiterated his belief in maintaining cordial relations across political lines. As quoted by Hindustan Times, he said, "As always, Dev has vouched for the politics of keeping people united, the politics of loving people and whichever party it may be or its inclination, I have always respected them."

The actor-politician also spoke about his interaction with the Chief Minister regarding the Ghatal Master Plan. He said, "The new CM has come. As a representative of Ghatal Lok Sabha, I have spoken with him during the administrative meeting. He has told in front of everyone that the 'Ghatal masterplan' will be completed by this government. It was started off by the old government."

Amid growing speculation over his political future, Dev has firmly denied reports suggesting that he has joined the rebel faction within the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC/TMC).

According to a report by Anandabazar Patrika, the Ghatal MP addressed the rumors following the administrative meeting and sought to put an end to the ongoing speculation. While acknowledging that no one can predict the future of their political career, Dev made it clear that his allegiance remains with Mamata Banerjee.

Speaking on the matter, he said, "I cannot say with certainty right now or at this moment what will happen in my political career in the future. However, there is one thing I want to make very clear today: as long as Mamata Banerjee is alive, I am with her and I will continue to stand by her."

During his interaction with the media, Dev also spoke warmly about his equation with Suvendu Adhikari. Reflecting on their long association, Dev described the Chief Minister as one of his favorite people.
