Laz Alonso is an American film and television actor of Cuban descent. His latest film in which he has a major role is Miracle at St. Anna. He has had supporting roles in movies such as Stomp the Yard, Jarhead, G, Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood, This Christmas, Fast & Furious and has signed to star in the upcoming James Cameron film Avatar which is set to be released in 2009. His interpretation of a United States Marine in Jarhead was loosely based on a USMC classmate that lived in his dormitory in college. He has made television guest staring appearances on The Unit, Bones, CSI:Miami, NCIS, The Practice and Eyes. Alonso appeared in music videos by Toni Braxton & Aaliyah. Alonso also hosted shows on the BET network. After graduating from Howard University with a BBA in Marketing, he had a lucrative career as an Investment Banker at Merill Lynch on Wall Street. Alonso currently resides in Los Angeles.
