Lee Unkrich Biography

Lee Edward Unkrich born  on August 8, 1967. He is an American director and film editor. He is a longtime member of the creative team at Pixar, where he started in 1994 as a film editor. He later moved into directing, as co-director of Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., and Finding Nemo (2003 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature).

A native of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Unkrich spent his youth acting at the Cleveland Playhouse. Unkrich graduated from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts in 1990. Before joining Pixar in 1994, Unkrich worked for several years in television as an editor and director. Unkrich came to Pixar on a temporary assignment during the development of Toy Story and he hasn't left. He directed Toy Story 3, which was released on June 18, 2010. Unkrich has three children whom he sometimes uses to get feedback for storyboard ideas. His daughter Hannah Unkrich plays Molly in the first two Toy Story films
