Sarath Babu Biography

Sarath Babu is a film actor from India, who has acted in almost all the major South Indian languages - Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. He has been in the industry for nearly 37 years and has acted in more than 200 movies, most of them in a supporting role. He entered the film industry in 1973 through a Telugu movie and later became popular through the Tamil movie Nizhal Nijamagiradhu, directed by K. Balachander.

He is well known for his supporting roles with actors like Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Chiranjeevi. He refers to K. Balachander as his mentor and has acted in most of his films.

He has received numerous awards, including eight Nandi awards from the government of Andhra Pradesh for his roles in Telugu movies. He also has acted in an English movie - 'Waking Dreams' - that is due for release. He was married to Telugu actress Ramaprabha, but they are now separated.

He has acted in 80 films each in Tamil and Telugu, 20 in Kannada, and a few in Malayalam. Sarath Babu married Cine Star M. N. Nambiar's daughter Sneha but is now divorced.

Death

On May 3rd, 2023, it was reported that Sarath Babu passed away due to age-related serious illness but his family reported that he is doing good and not to believe any rumors on this news. On May 22nd, 2023, he passed away in a private hospital in Hyderabad.
