Harold and the Purple Crayon is an upcoming American live-action/animated fantasy film directed by Carlos Saldanha, with a screenplay by David Guion and Michael Handelman. It is based on the beloved 1955 children's book of the same name by Crockett Johnson. The film stars Zachary Levi in the titular role, with supporting performances from Lil Rel Howery, Benjamin Bottani, Jemaine Clement, Tanya Reynolds, and Zooey Deschanel.

Plot:

The film serves as a sequel to the original book, following an adventurous Harold who has grown up with his magical purple crayon. In this new chapter, Harold draws himself off the book's pages and into the physical world, only to discover that he has much to learn about real life.
