The Professor and the Madman Story
The Professor and the Madman is a biographical drama based on the book `The Surgeon Of Crowthorne' by Simon Winchester. Farhad Safinia directed this movie under a new name PB Sherman. It stars Mel Gibson, Sean Penn and Natalie Dormer in prominent roles.
The film portrays the life of Sir James Murray, a professor who compiled the Oxford English Dictionary in 1857. The film also sheds light on the life of W C Minor, a doctor who submitted over 10,000 entries to this dictionary while he was undergoing treatment at a lunatic asylum.
