The Shape Of Water

What a waste of $14 and over two hours of my time. I know little about directors and the subtleties of movie making. I just go to kick back after a week of work. This movie is a cross between E.T. and Bladerunner. Not a lot of sunshine here. I felt no empathy for this creature nor for the mute girl. Why would I? Based on what? If the creature would have at least been like a dog or a bear instead of this gross slimy fish-man I might see the connection to saving him. In the back of my mind I was thinking - shotgun - and then lets move this mute girl to a job above ground where she can meet some kids, ponys and real people. Shes scared of regular men, but she takes to this creature thing like lassie. Go figure. The artist guy? A side show of no consequence. (Sorry, I dont bother to memorize the characters names in such a horrible movie) If the scene in the bathroom full of water to the ceiling was so believable, why couldnt Robert Ballard have slowly circled them in his Argo? Nothing became of anything in this movie except that they snuck the creature out of this top secret lab. This creature can heal his own bullet wounds, the artist starts to grow real hair, the girl begins to speak, but Frankenstein loses his fingers. How so? And what about fish-man and the cat? That should be the girls first clue as they go off into their underwater world together. Wait until the day she doesnt boil his egg just right! I cant believe all the 10/10 ratings being given.
