Wicked is an American fantasy drama directed by Jon M. Chu, serving as the first installment of a two-part adaptation of the beloved stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman.
The story reimagines characters from L. Frank Baum’s 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, famously brought to life in the Oscar-winning 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, starring Judy Garland as Dorothy. Schwartz and Holzman are adapting their stage script for the screen and produced by David Stone. The film features a stellar cast, including Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and Michelle Yeoh. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, the original musical became an instant classic.
Released Date Wicked will be released in Indian theaters on November 22, 2024.
