MET Gala 2023 Update: The MET Gala is an annual event that draws a multitude of celebrities from all around the world. Many Indian celebrities, including Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Isha Ambani, and Natasha Poonawala, have walked the red carpet at the high-profile event in the past.
This year, actress Alia Bhatt will make her debut at the MET Gala, dressed in a Prabal Gurung outfit. However, it appears that some celebrities may opt not to attend the event due to an unexpected increase in ticket prices.
HUGE PRICE OF MET GALA 2023 TICKET PER PERSON
According to an international publication, Page Six, the cost of a single ticket for this year's event has increased from $30,000 (approximately Rs 25 lakh) in 2022 to a staggering $50,000 (around Rs 47 lakh) this year. Yes, you read that right!
The rise in price has also dampened the spirits of some donors to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Reports suggest that some guests may choose to skip the grand gala this year due to the high cost of tickets.
A source quoted by the publication said, "These people are already donating so much, to then ask for that amount is a lot."
GUEST LIST OF MET GALA 2023
According to reports, the host of this year's MET Gala, Vogue Editor Anna Wintour, has already reduced the guest list. It has also been reported that the Kardashain-Jenner family did not make the cut, but Kim Kardashian is likely to attend the gala. Recently, Priyanka Chopra Jonas also confirmed that she'll be attending the event.
This year's MET Gala theme will commemorate the opening of the Costume Institute exhibition, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty. According to reports, the late designer's pet cat Choupette will also be part of the event. However, it is not yet confirmed whether ticket prices for pets are as high as those for humans. Lagerfeld, best known for his Chanel creations, died in 2019.
