Joker 2 Box Office Collection Day 1 In India: Fans can't keep calm as Joaquin Phoenix is back in and as 'Joker'. Nearly after 5 years, the much-loved Joker franchise has returned to big screens with the second installment titled 'Joker: Folie A Deux' (Joker 2). Amid much anticipation, the Hollywood psychological thriller had a grand theatrical release worldwide yesterday (2nd October 2024). Let's see how the film performed on its opening day in India.

Directed by Todd Phillips, Joker 2 - based on DC comic characters - marks Joaquin Phoenix's return as Arthur aka Joker in the film. The movie stars singer-actress Lady Gaga as Arthur's love interest Lee Quinzel (Harley Quinn) along with Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleesan and Catherine Keener among others.

Amid Devara Part 1 fever, Joker 2 hit cinemas in India yesterday, October 2. According to a report published by Sacnilk, the Joaquin Phoenix starrer had a decent opening in India and earned around Rs 5 cr (rough data) on day 1.

Reportedly, the American sequel had an overall 22.70% English occupancy on Wednesday, October 2.

Joker 2 opened to mixed reviews from audiences and critics alike. Amid much expectations, the film had an underwhelming opening in India. Despite releasing on a National Holiday (Gandhi Jayanti), Joker 2 failed to beat the opening day box office record of Ryan Reynolds-Hugh Jackman starrer 'Deadpool & Wolverine' in India by a huge margin.

For those unversed, Deadpool Vs Wolverine, which released on 26th July 2024, had reportedly collected around Rs 21 crores on the first day of its release in India.
