DC Studios is bringing back the fan-favorite antihero in Peacemaker Season 2, and the trailer promises a wild ride through alternate realities, emotional conflicts, and action-packed moments. The story picks up after Season 1, where Christopher Smith, also known as Peacemaker, saved the world from alien butterflies. But peace still feels far away for him.

In the Season 1 finale, Peacemaker was seen sitting on his porch, haunted-literally-by the ghost of his racist father, Auggie (played by Robert Patrick). Season 2 takes the story in a bold new direction.

The trailer opens with Ozzy Osbourne's Road to Nowhere playing in the background, setting the tone for Peacemaker's strange new journey. He steps through a mysterious portal that leads him into an alternate dimension, a place where "the grass is greener"-but not for long. This new move brings interdimensional trouble, and chaos quickly follows.

A key twist in the plot involves Rick Flag Sr., the head of the shadowy DC Universe agency A.R.G.U.S. He is now on a mission to find Peacemaker and avenge the death of his son. Meanwhile, Peacemaker comes face-to-face with an alternate version of himself, sparking a deep, emotional journey as he tries to make peace with his past and find his true purpose.

John Cena reprises his role, which he first played in The Suicide Squad (2021), also directed by James Gunn. The character recently made a cameo in Gunn's upcoming Superman film. Alongside Cena, the new season features Jennifer Holland, Frank Grillo, Sol Rodriguez, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, and Tim Meadows in key roles.

Peacemaker Season 2 premieres on August 21 at 9 PM ET/PT on HBO Max. The show will have a total of eight episodes, with new episodes dropping weekly. In India, viewers can stream the series on JioHotstar at the same time as the U.S. release.
