Amitabh Bachchan's Tribute To VK Murthy

Bollywood's Angry Young Man Amitabh Bachchan has paid his last tribute to versatile Indian cinematographer VK Murthy, who passed away on Monday (April 7). Murthy had worked with the big names of Bollywood at its classic age. (Amitabh Bachchan To Play Shivaraj Kumar's Guru).

Venkatram Krishna Murthy was popularly known with his screen name as VK Murthy in B-Town and Gandhinagara. He was born on November 26, 1923, in Mysore. Hindi movies like Baazi, Jaal, Aar Paar, Mr And Mrs 55, CID Pyaasa, 12 O Clock, Kaagaz Ke Phool, Chaudhvin Ka Chand, Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam, Ziddi, Love In Tokyo, Naya Zamana, Kalyug Aur Ramayan and others are the witness for Dada Saheb Palke awardee VK Murthy's work.

Amitabh took to his micro-blogging site Twitter to pay his last tribute for the ace cinematographer. "V Murthy, ace DOP passes away .. gentle most talented cinematographer from time of great Guru Dutt .. worked with him in Nastik," tweets Bachchan, who is all set to play lead role in Sandalwood's forthcoming movie Kabira.

Apart from Hindi movies, VK Murthy has handled the camera for Kannada movie Hoovu Hannu, which was directed by Rajendra Singh Babu. He had also acted in the movie, which had ace actress Lakshmi in the lead role.
